The Anwar LED Large Pendant from Prachilna is no different; it celebrates the universal motif of the woven basket by transforming its traditionally organic strands into welded steel rods that number nearly 100. The piece balances a multi-ethnic aesthetic with a stylized contemporary personality. It takes hold of a space as it hangs in the air in an airy multi-scale form. To create each basket-like form, metalsmiths carefully bend steel rods into swift diagonals and weld them onto a ring. The result is a multi-layering of contours that delights the same from any angle. A dual-sided LED glow transforms the fine rods into a light show of stunning highlights. The LEDs sift through the weave to create a seductive ambiance.
