Simple in design but weighty in presence. The Apollo Mini Pendant from Pholc offers an inspiring retro accompaniment to indoor spaces. A spire-like confection of machined-turned raw metalwork from the minds of Mats Broberg and Johan Ridderstråle, it’s a salute to the constant struggle against gravitational force. It starts by using a conical canopy to suspend a spire-like cylinder from above. This shape and the inverted conical shade below it resemble a stylized rocket and booster, focusing the lamping inside into a powerful beam of light below the fixture. Excellent as a single installation or arrayed in a pattern of multiple units.
