Though at first glance Bau registers as a sculptural mobile, it’s actually an engagingly sophisticated hanging light. Composed of varied sizes of linden veneer discs, the asymmetrical composition of interlocking forms reflects strict geometrics leavened with the organic softness of the wood. “Decoration does not need to be restricted to objects you hang on the wall, but can also form an integral part of more functional objects,” says its Danish designer Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt.
