A rare centre major pendant lamp designed by mogens voltelen and produced by fog & mørup, denmark, during the 1960s. first introduced in the 1963 fog & mørup catalogue, the centre series was manufactured for only a relatively short period, making surviving examples increasingly difficult to find. Today it is regarded as one of the more elusive designs from fog & mørup's celebrated mid-century production. the series was produced in two sizes: the smaller centre minor (ø32 cm) and the larger centre major (ø46 cm). This example is the sought-after centre major version, notable for its generous proportions and impressive architectural presence. the pendant features a spun aluminium outer shade combined with an opaline glass bulb housing that softly diffuses light upward and sideways while eliminating glare. A painted steel internal stem supports the bulb holder and can be adjusted via a tightening screw.
