For this branches of trees are covered in steel wire which is then soldered. The branch being burnt out of the cast. The original shape of the branches remaining in the cover of steel wire now defining the shape of the lamps.The shape of the models/ items is not only defined by the process of covering, but mostly by the shape of the branch. And from the shape of the branch, you can guess to which tree the branch belonged. The spruce branches which I used for some lamps, for example, opening wide and wild. the beech branches creating leaner, higher forms.The surface on the outside is polished until you can see the two materials: the steel wire and the brass soldering wire. The different colours also a reminescence of the making and the annual groth rings. the inside has not been polished or treated, but only been lacquered, to actually show the process.Made by hand, in Germany.This item is made to order.
