A 1960s Danish ceramic pendant by Jette Helleroe for Axella. The drum-shaped shade is wrapped in repeating medallions, each pressed in relief and punctuated with rounded amber glass cabochons that glow like small embers when lit. Deep cobalt accents pool within the carved motifs, giving the surface a layered sense of texture and depth. The form is a study in contrast: a raw, charcoal-toned ceramic top giving way to a richly glazed band in ivory, blue, and sienna—a palette unmistakably rooted in Axella’s mid-century studio tradition. Inside, the stoneware is left unglazed, speckled, and marked by the subtle irregularities of the kiln. Suspended from a twisted cloth cord with a newly fitted canopy, the pendant feels warm, atmospheric, and unmistakably handmade. Condition: Great vintage condition. The glazed ceramic surface shows minor wear consistent with age, including light craquelure and small surface variations inherent to the hand-finished process. Amber glass cabochons remain intact and well-seated throughout. Professionally rewired by our team of restorationists with a new socket, electrical system, and canopy.
