The designers bring to mind the traditional chalice shape with a clean shade made from steel. The shade produces a fine point like a chalice’s stem, then fills out into a deep bowl. This bowl serves as the ideal form for containing and diffusing light. The bulbs inside turn on to create a warm glaze along the inner walls. The light then streams through the opening for an intoxicating down glow. The light-filled shade gives off a floating quality as a fine suspension neatly holds it in the air.
