Pair of cylindrical white ceramic pendant lights, with an allover pierced lattice of geometric forms and cut-out cherry blossom and stem motifs, framed at top and bottom by a traditional fret border. The pattern casts and filters light, throwing intricate shadows of flowers and geometry across walls and ceilings when lit, nodding to the blanc de chine tradition. American-made, circa 1950s. The brass chain and canopy hardware are warm and aged. Both pieces retain their original "Union Made" stickers, with Underwriters Laboratories markings still visible in the brass canopy on one piece. Previously hardwired into a home; will require rewiring by an electrician before use. Ceramic is in perfect condition with light crazing throughout, consistent with age. Sold as a pair.
