Mid-Century German Perforated Metal Pendant By Ernest Igl For Hillebrand Leuchten, 1960s
Chairish$1,792
Rare Mid-Century pendant lamp with distinctive perforation from the renowned Hillebrand based on a design by Ernest Igl from the 60s. The lamp consists of three elements. The glare ring forms the central element. Above is a plain, white lacquered cylinder that houses the receptacle for the cable as well as the socket. Inside is an open cylinder of opal glass that acts as a diffuser surrounding the bulb. The glass peeks out slightly below the glare ring. However, the most striking detail of this lamp is the dark metal glare ring. The ring features the perforation characteristic of Ernest Igl luminaire designs. The irregular-looking holes light up as bright dots when switched on. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
