Impressive space age rod pendant luminaire with complex reflector shells. The luminaire is said to have been sold by the dutch manufacturer raak. However, i have no reliable evidence of this. the design is based on the eclipse principle. Movable reflector shells shield the light source and thus control the lighting effect. In this luminaire, both half shells are movable and rotate around a fixed ring as a support. The ring with its reflective chrome surface provides additional reflections and lighting effects. The basic shape of this design is a sphere that sits at the lower end of a long shaft. The sphere consists of two half shells of different sizes, which are arranged around the light source in the center. The shaft consists of two tubes inserted into each other. Inside is a spiral cable with a pendant function. This allows the length of the shaft and therefore the height of the luminaire to be adjusted. The canopy is also finished in chrome, just like the shaft. the lamp is in very good condition with signs of wear and patina. The electrics have been professionally replaced. dimensions: h: 125-160 cm, w: 35.5 cm, d: 27 cm up to 250v (europe/uk standard).the wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
