This murano glass pendant lamp was manufactured by Mazzega in Italy in the 1970s. The glass was hand blown by Murano glass blowers, making this lamp a unique piece. The five glass ‘petals’ have small air inclusions that give the glass a spongy appearance and that nicely diffuse the light. The thick glass is amber and transparent coloured. The chandelier has a typical 70s design. The chrome-plated rod in the middle reflects the light and makes this chandelier a real eye-catcher. The chain and canopy are also chrome-plated. The chain of this lamp can be shortened to adjust the suspension height. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, Up to 250V (Europe/UK Standard). The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
