Set of 2 Verner Panton “Flowerpot” Pendant Lamps for Louis Poulsen, Denmark, 1968 Designed by Verner Panton and produced by Louis Poulsen in 1968, the Flowerpot pendant is an enduring icon of Danish modern design. Its simple geometric form and vivid color embody Panton’s playful yet functional approach to lighting. Each lamp consists of two hemispherical enamelled steel shades in a 2:1 proportion — a large upper dome and a smaller lower dome — creating a balanced, sculptural silhouette. The design directs light downward while the smaller shade shields the bulb, reflecting light upward for a soft, glare-free illumination. This principle echoes Poul Henningsen’s philosophy of warm, comfortable lighting. This set of two features high-gloss orange-red enamelled steel shades, complemented by chromed steel three-pronged bulb cradles and original Louis Poulsen white porcelain bulb sockets, each stamped LP. The interiors retain their original finishes: white inside the upper shade and orange lacquer inside the lower shade, creating a warm, atmospheric light. Originally produced in a range of bold 1960s colours, the Flowerpot was often used in clusters for localized or decorative lighting arrangements. Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no chips; fully functional and in working order. Sold as a set of two.
