An iconic design pendant by Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte, Model 1933, Italy, 1961. Organically shaped double lens cut panels of thick profiled polished Murano glass with sandblasted centers fitted within a natural brass ring suspended from brass structure with canopy. The Model 1933 is one of the iconic series by Max Ingrand. It also exists as floor lamp and wall sconces. Max Ingrand while running his own studio in Paris, became in 1954 artistic director of Fontana Arte founded by Gio Ponti in 1932. The Italian designing company Fontana Arte was specialized in producing exclusive furniture and lighting items manufactured in the highest-quality materials, mainly glass.This pendant is in fine vintage condition, glass without chips or cracks, beautiful aged patina to brass, hand polished and rewired.
