Supernova Pendant Light

Ferruccio Laviani’s Supernova looks like it materialized in mid-explosion—yet it’s really a study in flat geometry and precise balance. Seven pairs of laser-cut aluminum discs radiate from a central LED bulb, each disc angled just enough to catch and scatter the light. Up close, the fixture is all crisp edges and negative space; from across the room it resolves into a glowing sphere hovering on a near-invisible suspension cable. The layered construction does more than turn heads. The overlapping panels act as micro-shades that prevent glare, sending a warm, even wash outward and a concentrated beam downward onto dining tables or open-plan seating areas. Available in satin aluminum or a deep magenta anodized finish, Supernova shifts character with every viewing angle—sleek and architectural in silver, dramatic and jewel-like in pink. At a little under 24″ (Ø60 cm) in diameter but weighing only a few pounds, it’s easy to install over a kitchen island, a double-height foyer, or in multiples across a hospitality lobby. Laviani’s signature mix of hi-tech production and sculptural impact makes Supernova a true statement piece: part kinetic art, part celestial body, entirely unforgettable.
