Very rare lamp from the Dutch pre-war period of modernism. The lamp dates from the 1930s and is attributed to Elmar Berkovich. Although Berkovich is not known to many people, he was a very famous and important designer in his time. This is evident from his collaborations and friendships with designers such as Gerrit Rietveld, Mart Stam and Marcel Breuer. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, Up to 250V (Europe/UK Standard). The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
