Opala Midi model pendant lamp was designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1973, and manufactured by Louis Poulsen, Denmark. The lamp offered belongs to the ‘Opala’ series, a range which was originally designed for a hotel in Copenhagen. The name ‘Opala’ refers both to the opaque quality of the acrylic shade and the type of opaline light bulb Wegner initially intended to be fitted to the fixture.
