Vintage scandinavian modern ceiling pendant verona 485 by sven middelboe, 1990s. large pendant in white aluminium with seven circular shades, each shade is angled so the light is reflected and evenly dispersed softly and glare-free. No connection between the shades are visible, which gives the impression of the shades are floating. Striking presence when lit as the pendant self-illuminates. A timeless design piece. this danish ceiling light was designed by sven middelboe in 1968 and manufactured by thorn lighting, denmark in the late 1990s. The design is inspired by the arena di verona, hence the name. originally svend middelboe designed this lamp for nordisk solar, today the pendant is produced by lyfa, denmark. white textile cord, approximately 90 cm.
