A pair of French cast iron garden urns in the style of Louis XVI and dating from the middle of the 19th century. They are structurally in very good condition with oxidation to the interiors and bottoms. The green painted surface is old not original with what may be original orange primer showing through in places. They have traditional period decoration with ivy and vines embossed aroung the top of the bowl, fluting on the base of the bowl, and shield and dart decoration on the bottom flange. They are of a large size making them very practical for outside planting or as a cashe pot for inside use. They were found near Lyon.
