These are truly rare, ENTIRELY hand painted pieces with heat set enamel and gold, a stark contrast to Herend pieces of later production period that are decorated with minimal hand coloring over printed outlines. This set is an examples of Herend at its best, painted with meticulously detailed work - kind of pieces that are no longer made in modern times due to high cost and a diminishing number of skilled porcelain painters. Marked with the Herend logo and additional overglaze serial numbers and faintly hand engraved underglaze marks of corresponding numbers.
