One of the largest planters we have had the pleasure of selling - a traditional graceful form, the tapering body with waisted top, rim with continued lotus theme from main body. Exquisitely hand painted in China/Hong Kong with rich lustrous enamels that portray an Oriental pond scene with a multitude of lotus leaves and pink lotus flowers with pairs of exotic birds. This planter must have taken an inordinate amount of time to complete by hand. The detail on the lotus leaves is excellent. The interior painted with nine swimming orange goldfish and delicate pond weed. Condition is excellent. Labelled Wing Tei, Hong Kong Exporter. Vintage early People's Republic Period. 1950s - 1960s.
