Mid-Century Tv Lamp Base With Rearing Horse

Chairish

$305

TV Lamps are a particularly iconic type of vintage home decor. Manufactured primarily in the 1950s and early 60's, these little lamps were designed to sit on top of the television and shine against the wall behind it to cast a soft glow to alleviate the eye strain of viewing in a darkened room. Highly decorative, TV Lamps came in a variety of shapes and themes, but are most commonly glazed ceramic with some painted details. This particular is actually the ceramic base that was not wired into a light. It features a rearing horse in front of a cobblestone wall or well. The 'well' area is planter and base is sealed, so it can accommodate real plants without the moisture interfering with the function of the light when wired. The light is finished in a high-gloss mustard yellow glaze with brown accents. Measurements: 10.5" X 10.5" Wide X 5" Deep United States, 1950
