We hope this bed frame is considered both novel and interesting as well as timeless. Built from all solid wood here in our studio in Vancouver Washington. A bed with soul. Clean and interesting lines that flow in and out in every direction.Our goal with this mid century modern bed has been, first and foremost, to construct a piece of furniture that will last well over 50 years without issue. Quality of material and construction is our focus. I hope you like the design and find the proportions pleasing, but we strive primarily to surpass your expectations in regard to quality. A key advantage of purchasing from a smaller scale shop is that we can justify losing our minds on details such as grain orientation and joinery reinforcement. Please enjoy for many, many years to come.This bed is made from all solid hardwoods using traditional joinery. Once the mattress is on the bed, the headboard has a floating look, covering the three supports from the headboard to the bed frame that give incredible strength and rigidity. All joints are hand sculpted to blend together.Any of our dressers and nightstands complement this mid century modern bed well, but the pieces that most closely mirror the unique design are Side Table No. 2 and our Midcentury Modern Dresser.A minimalist side table addition is available ($250 for one, $400 for two)WOOD TYPEAvailable in any domestic hardwood including Walnut, Maple, White Oak, and Cherry. Figured walnut available as an upgrade.FINISHWe use a natural (and food-safe) oil/wax finish to protect and highlight the beauty of the wood so that it can be enjoyed in day-to-day activities by all ages without fear. Any spills can easily be wiped off and, over time, a simple application of oil will revitalize the piece as needed based on personal preference.
