Rocking chair, designed by Illum Wikkelsø, Danish, 1950s. Black lacquered wood frame with a high backrest featuring turned vertical slats, an ergonomically contoured seat, and curved armrests with spatula ends. Crosspieces connecting the front legs to the runners have turned joints. Uniform black lacquer finish. The chair is in our workshop in Rome, professionally restored. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
