This large-scale counter was originally built for a mercantile or general store, designed with multiple drawers for efficient storage and daily use. The piece is constructed with decorative recessed paneling on the public-facing side, showcasing scalloped corner details. The top has been refinished in-shop, highlighting the warm, time-worn patina of the original wood while preserving its industrial-era character. All drawers have been cleaned and restored, now featuring japanned copper cup pulls, an authentic hardware style popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Excellent condition overall, with age-appropriate wear to the wood consistent with its original commercial use.
