Here is an exceptional, Japanese Showa Byobu/folding screen of the "hanaguruma" or flower cart. The screen is hand-painted on silk with a gorgeous, luxe gold background. The hanaguruma motif is a traditional Japanese motif that symbolizes wealth and good fortune. It became popular in the 9th century, as noble families would decorate their carts with flowers and parade them around Kyoto. This particular screen features 4 folding panels, that can be closed.
