This antique carved panel from Jiangsu, circa 1880, was originally used to divide space in a Chinese home. Now it can be hung high up on a wall as a unique decorative feature to create definition, above a bed or sideboard for a unique aesthetic. The panel was crafted in Jiangsu, China during the late 19th century, constructed from elm and boasting a luxurious finish that emphasises the natural beauty of the material. Boasting a wide frame, five smaller panels are nestled within, each adorned with a combination of open and relief carving. These smaller panels feature the shaping and carving of various characters from Chinese folklore set against a floral pattern in open carving.
