Mirror Labyrinth Velvet Screen

A sophisticated choice to define space or create functional division in a room, this captivating screen is composed of three hinged panels of silk velvet with gold leaf details framed in black lacquered wood. Transforming the velvet into a canvas, the artist is able to create a fluid and almost three-dimensional decoration that plays with the light like a mirror. It is entirely dyed with black pigments and painted with blue pastes in the old fashioned way, using only natural products and century-old techniques of the Venetian tapestry tradition. The reverse is in dove gray silk.
