Labyrinth Room Divider Designed by Niels Gammelgaard and Lars Mathiesen under the brand Pelikan Design in 1992. Produced by Fritz Hansen (this example is labelled 2006) Constructed from angled vertical beech wood slats. The piece rests on three feet, the two end feet are metal stabiliser plates which help to support it. Width including the metal foot plates 177cm Pelikan Design Pelikan Design was co-founded in 1978 by Niels Gammelgaard (1944) and Lars Mathiesen (1950). They are both trained architects at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen during the 1970s. They have worked on a broad range of different design pieces from stationary to large furniture (both commercial and domestic) using differing materials. Pelikan Design incorporates distinctive considered design elements with a minimalist approach. Fritz Hansen (1872-present) Founded in Denmark in 1872, Fritz Hansen has been at the forefront of Danish design for over 150 years and has helped influence design worldwide.
