This spectacular vintage Chinese export is an incised, hand-painted Coromandel Screen which depicts pink crowned cranes. The rice paper gold gilding is the backdrop of this artist's depiction. Pink crowned cranes are a symbol of love and fidelity. The reverse side of screen is painted flowers etched on black lacquer. The screen's eight supporting feet are enveloped in brass. The contrast and depth of this design changes with the light throughout the day, which makes it a very interesting work of art! See less
