Originating from Turkey circa 1950-1960, a 5x7 vintage Turkish kilim rug exemplifying mid-century tribal sensibilities. Handwoven in wool, the sharp geometric pattern revels in warm orange & gold tones sitting beautifully with pastel pink & teal green for a vibrant play of hues. Both the vertical borders feature stripe patterns and fine frings, a signature yet subtly complementary element to the presence of such a brilliant piece. Recently unveiled from R&K Principal Josh Nazmiyal’s collection of rare woven treasures, a flat weave in good condition for its distinguished provenance. Connoisseurs may further note beige-brown accents to the serrated diamond patterns, less present though complementary to the radiant hues.
