"Meatpacking Patchwork" in color Argento (Silver) is a limited edition piece by Italian contemporary rug design brand G.T.DESIGN.This signature wool and cotton carpet is created using fragments of 30-50 years old vintage rugs; they have been stripped of color, dyed and reassembled with stitching that respects the different design components. The bands of color depict motifs, styles and eras that are distant yet familiar. The well balanced composition of blue, grays and earthy tones results in a faded silver color.Designed by G.T.DESIGN Founder and Creative Director Deanna Comellini, "MeatPacking Patchwork" is a modern rug with timeless elements that will take center stage in any space._______About the designer:Deanna Comellini is an artist and a designer. For over 40 years, she has experimented by combining craftsmanship and industrial design while working first on product design and later on textiles. She has developed the notion of ‘imperfect design’, highlighting the minor flaws of materials and handmade products that make them unique and one-of-a-kind. In the 1990s, she focused on the concept of the contemporary rug and natural materials while innovating the industry with a new textile for interior design. In 1977, she founded G.T.DESIGN taking on the role of Creative Director. She participated in prestigious international exhibitions and collaborated with important architectural figures, including Toyo Ito and the Zaha Hadid Architects studio.In 2022, Deanna Comellini was named one of the 100 Most Influential Women by Forbes Italy.
