Cc-Tapis Inventory Rope Rug By Faye Toogood

Produced with the handloom technique in the cc-tapis atelier in Kathmandu, Nepal. The rug is handwoven in flat-weave with Himalayan wool and cotton inserts coming from the areas surrounding the atelier. The sale of every rug supports cc-for education. The wide range of materials, patterns and haberdashery in the Toogood archives provided the initial inspiration behind the Inventory collection which translates post-industrial influences such as vulcanized rubber, distressed plaster and security mesh into raw yet gentle furnishings. Produced entirely by hand in Nepal, using eco-friendly wools and silks, it is the first time that hand-knotting and hand-weaving have been combined in the same rugs. The designs are available in a restrained palette of cream and raw, undyed tones, the Toogood aesthetic given a fresh iteration for cc-tapis.
