Loop sweets: this is how the sweets that became famous a few decades ago thanks to their intense fruity flavour and their distinct arrangement were presented. At first glance, it is easy to understand why Chimos, the new collection by José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales for GAN, takes its name from these sweets that were so popular in Spain in the 1980s - known as ‘Life Savers’ in America.Soft, colourful and playful, this collection of rugs is made in two colours - red and green - and two sizes - 170 x 240 cm and 200 x 300 cm. Within Chimos, the starring figure is a single object, the disc, repeated hundreds of times in a chromatic variation based on its main colour, and on a contrasting background -white or black, depending on the model-.The graphic line that defines each of the circles acquires more strength thanks to the variations in volume and colour, generated through the meticulous work of hand-tufting and carving in pure wool. While the discs are arranged with absolute precision, the subtle variations on their colour are random, so the sensations that CHIMOS provoke for the viewer are still those of surprise and movement.FIBRE COMPOSITION100% woolMANUFACTURING TECHNIQUEHand knotted
