Brand: ClassiConModel: Monolith RugDesign: Eileen Gray, 1920-1935Eileen Gray not only created some of the most iconic furniture classics of the 20th century, but also ran a studio where rugs were developed directly from her own designs. Some of her most beautiful textile works are now part of the ClassiCon rug collection, preserving the spirit of her modernist and experimental approach.Monolith is based on Eileen Gray's gouaches and pencil drawings from the 1920s. The design features beige horizontal and vertical lines of varying lengths that elegantly accentuate the earthy dark gray background. In some areas, the lines cross without touching, suggesting a subtle structure that visually divides the rug into squares of different sizes. This refined geometric abstraction exemplifies Gray's ability to transform artistic vision into functional and expressive textile design. The rug embodies Gray's philosophy:"Things must not only look right, they must also feel right."Monolith conveys a harmonious balance of form, material, and spatial composition, making it both visually striking and tactilely engaging. The rug is made of 100% Himalayan nettle, all hand-spun, and hand-knotted using the Tibetan knot technique, with a density of 80 knots per square inch (6.45 cm²). Environmentally friendly color pigments are used, tested in accordance with OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. The rug is low-maintenance and suitable for vacuum cleaners. Production takes place in collaboration with M2Rugs, following the fair trade standards of Label STEP.Natural materials combined with traditional handcrafted techniques ensure that each rug possesses its own unique character. Slight color variations and dimensional tolerances of ±5 cm are inherent to the artisanal process and underline the authenticity of hand production.Dimensions:W 200 × D 300 cmW 78.7 × D 118.1 in
