"MeatPacking Patchwork" is a sustainable rug in repurposed wool and cotton by Italian luxury brand G.T.DESIGN.This one of a kind rug with a vintage vibe results from research into the expressive power of color and tactile textures by designer Deanna Comellini, G.T.DESIGN’s founder and Art Director.The one-of-a-kind wool and cotton pieces are produced using fragments of 30-50 years old vintage rugs; they have been stripped of color, dyed, and reassembled with stitching that combines seamessly the different design components. The bands of color depict motifs, styles, and eras that are distant yet familiar. Thanks to the well-balanced composition of the rug designs, the space appears to be geometrically reorganized and expanded. In this version, characterized by natural shades, the "MeatPacking Patchwork" rug is perfect for minimalistic yet warm interiors and for adding a vintage vibe to contemporary homes.The "MeatPacking Patchwork" versatile collection includes a vast color range of 23 shades and can be requested in any shape or size.___________About the designer:Deanna Comellini is an artist and a designer. For over 40 years, she has experimented by combining craftsmanship and industrial design while working first on product design and later on textiles. She has developed the notion of ‘imperfect design’, highlighting the minor flaws of materials and handmade products that make them unique and one-of-a-kind. In the 1990s, she focused on the concept of the contemporary rug and natural materials while innovating the industry with a new textile for interior design. In 1977, she founded G.T.DESIGN taking on the role of Creative Director. She participated in prestigious international exhibitions and collaborated with important architectural figures, including Toyo Ito and the Zaha Hadid Architects studio.Deanna Comellini was named one of the 100 Most Influential Women by Forbes Italy in 2022.
