The millefleur design of this rug is one of the most recognizable in Lavar Kerman rugs. Kerman was a traditional carpet-weaving city. In the early 19th century, the city was burned to the ground during a civil war. Many of the weavers relocated to the village of Lavar. These rugs are known as Lavar Kerman carpets.
