This rug is a new addition to the flatweaves in Rug & Kilim’s award-winning Scandinavian rug collection. Made with handwoven wool, its design is inspired by mid-century Swedish minimalist textile designs of the Rollakhan and Rya weaving traditions.On the Design: This new flat weave reinvents vintage Scandinavian Kilim in ways that both honor the Swedish minimalist aesthetic and modernize its construction. Our use of undyed natural yarns, for example, lends a subtle striae with more of a sense of movement and depth—a subtle nod to Rollakan techniques in a modern fashion. This particular rug enjoys geometric stripes in tones of gray, blue, beige-brown and ivory white, with intricate variations in the color from the aforementioned weaving style.
