Spark is based on traditional ikats, fabrics created by resist-dyeing yarns before they are woven. The Chilewich design team looked to this multifaceted process—in which bundles of yarn are wrapped together, dyed in sequence, and then aligned on the loom to create a desired pattern—to inspire the development of a double weave flecked with blurred-edge bursts of color that extend vertically or horizontally, intersecting in dynamic crosshatchings. The large scale of Spark's repeat makes each rug unique. TO CLEAN: Vacuum to remove loose dirt or wipe clean with soap, water, and a soft sponge or cloth. Resists stain-causing bacteria, mold, and mildew. For over a decade, New York based designer Sandy Chilewich has been creating original and innovative vinyl products for the home. Her woven, tufted, molded and spun textiles are available in a range of vibrant and neutral hues that have become synonymous with the Chilewich brand name.
