Typo white is a rectangular hand-tufted rug.‎Material: Wool, Bamboo SilkPile Height: 10 - 15mmTechnique: Hand-tuftedCustom sizes and colors on requestThe Typo collection is inspired by the typographic experimentation of Armin Hofmann, a graphic designer who was one of the leading figures of the Swiss and modernist style.‎Starting from a grid of circles/points, the design takes shape by tracing tangent lines and materializes in an alternation of filled and empty spaces.‎ It is an exercise in creating relationships between lines and points, as well as a genuine design method coined by Hofmann himself: "If the dot is an important element in structure and analysis, the line performs the important duty of construction.‎ It joints, articulates, bears, supports, holds together and protects".‎The rugs in the Typo series bring the three-dimensionality of graphic images to the surface, creating different levels of interpretation and volumes with varying pile heights.‎ Gradients are rendered through a clever play of line thinning; experimentation with forms, as in Hoffmann's philosophy, takes center stage and allows infinite variations achieved through exercises in contrast and composition.‎
