76034 Vintage Persian Hamadan Rug, 06'06 X 09'09. Delightfully distinctive, this hand-knotted wool vintage Persian Hamadan rug handsomely combines Mid-Century Modern style with Persian history. This vintage Hamadan rug features a stepped cut-out field composed of three square amulets. The middle square amulet displays a jug (ewer) symbolizing purification flanked by a cross on either end. The two square medallions showcase a Love and Unison motif with a jagged edge and they are flanked with a Goz eye to ward off evil. The spandrels and outside the field host a variety of ancient symbols; antelope, birds, butterflies, and Burdock motifs adding depth and interest. It is enclosed with a stylized star floral border flanked with an inner and outer rosette meander guard band.
