An unusually large antique Qashqai carpet, hand woven by the eponymous nomadic tribe circa 1920. The design features 3 small medallions on a terracotta field of stylised flowers and figures surrounded by an indigo border of trailing vines and interlocking flowers. A great example of large scale tribal weaving. Size: 3.35m x 2.35m (11ft x 7ft 8in) This rug is in good condition with light, age related wear, slightly heavier in a few small areas (see photos). Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
