Woodland on Squares Revisited is a rectangular wool rug.‎Zollanvari Super Fine Gabbeh.‎‎Bulurbaft, the most ‘classical’ design carpets, are woven in the province of Kurdistan.‎ ‘Bulur’ is Farsi for ‘brilliant’ or ‘precise’, an apt definition for these finely woven carpets that are similar to traditional Bijar carpets in quality and weave.‎ The designs draw inspiration from old Senneh carpets, but refreshed and updated the colour palette to suit modern sensibilities.‎ The Luribaft carpets are knotted by Luri tribesmen or by Ghashgha’i women married into the tribe.‎ The designs are passed down from generation to generation or are recreated using ancient Luri ornaments as templates, since some archaic motifs had vanished from their repertoire.‎ Until the 1950s the Luri tribes worked exclusively with vegetable dyes.‎ The emergence of chemical dyes, mainly from Germany, made it easier to dye wool, but led to a loss of the intrinsic character of these fine carpets.‎ In the 1980s Zollanvari forced a return to the ancient vegetable dyeing techniques and thereby revived the allure of these carpets.‎
