ZEBRAS AMIDST BLOOMS 1 is a rectangular wool rug.‎Zollanvari Super Fine Gabbehs.‎A new departure for a Gabbeh, this design is based on animal pelt carpets chiefly woven in Tibet in the 19th and 20th centuries.‎ ‘Zebras amidst Blooms’ combines the intricacy of the weave of floral Gabbehs with a stylised depiction of animal pelts.‎ The combination is complex yet fluid, and the two levels of the design clash and blend at the same time creating a sense of perspective.‎ This design adds a new twist in the use of zany colourful flowers to create a contemporary carpet.‎ Our first design influenced by the preservation of our natural environment and celebrating the diversity of its vegetation establishes the natural rhythm and movement of leaves and plants against the ruthless industrial stripes representing urbanization.‎ Very decorative carpet with a message, it is designed by Zollanvari Studio, inspired by the struggle between urban development and preservation of our natural environment.‎ The finest mountain wool in the Zagros Mountains creates a textured, double-layered pattern in bright greens on a black and white field - all dyed with natural plant dyes.‎
