Handmade antique NW Persian carpet. Woven circa 1870 (late 19th century). Persian informal rug, runner size: 3'0" x 14'6". All-over design with multi-color lattice pattern. Ivory background with red major border and navy and brown minor borders. Hand knotted wool construction. Hallway Runner Rugs (3ft x 14.06ft), Circa Date: 1870s. This exceptional piece represents the finest weaving traditions of the late 19th century. As one of our premier antique rugs, its wool pile is remarkably preserved, offering a tactile connection to the history of textile art. The central field employs a delicate palette of ivory beige cream white tones, creating a luminous ground that maximizes light reflection. This subtle backdrop is densely populated by a repeating floral lattice, executed with precision characteristic of highly skilled nomadic or village weavers. Crafted specifically for long, narrow spaces, this piece functions perfectly among hallway runner rugs. Its elongated proportions and durable hand-knotted structure make it ideal for high-traffic areas where both historical integrity and practical resilience are required. The rich, saturated terracotta border provides a strong visual frame, contrasting beautifully with the light field. The repeated, small-scale motifs covering the entirety of the central panel define it as a classic allover design, ensuring visual interest from any perspective without a dominating central medallion.
