distressed vintage Turkish Oushak runner, Tribal style Hallway runner. This hand knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak runner features a triple medallion design of concentric hooked diamonds spread across an abrashed terra cotta field. The medallions contain scorpion motifs, which represent protection. Matching half-medallions reach from the edges toward the center. The attractive main border displays the classic hands-on-hips motif, known as Elibelinde in Turkish, which symbolizes fertility and motherhood. The motif takes on a hexagonal pattern along the sides and appears doubled along the two ends. A simple saw-tooth outer guard border echoes the angular designs of the rest of the composition. With its rich symbolism, classic design, and a time-softened color palette, this vintage Oushak runner would be a warm and inviting presence in any interior. Rendered in variegated shades of terra cotta, rust, burnt orange, charcoal, coffee, sienna, burnt umber, taupe, gray, dark gray, oyster gray, saffron, greige, beige, camel, tan, ecru, and beige with muted celadon and pale lavender. Complementary SW Colors and Hues: Rockwood Terra Cotta, Sawdust, Bamboo Shoot, Fired Brick, Smokey Topaz, Roycroft Pewter, Canvas Tan, Black Bean, Umber Rust, Lemon Verbena, Grecian Ivory, High Tea, Copper Pot, Maison Blanche, Koi Pond, and Kismet.
