About RugStudio Rug Studio is the e-commerce division of Oriental Rug Gallery, L.P., a fourth-generation family-owned company based in San Antonio, Texas. Our story began in 1930 with founder Kaloust Aijian, an Armenian Genocide survivor who fled his village of Hadjin and came to America by way of France, arriving through New York Harbor. Kaloust first operated a rug boutique inside D.H.
