Modernist Squares Revisited 4 is a rectangular wool rug.‎Zollanvari Super Fine Gabbeh quality.‎The geometric designs of our Squares Revisited Collection are quintessentially Gabbeh.‎ The execution of this design explores how different perspectives can be created in weave.‎ Using Persian weaving knowhow and finding inspiration in Symbolist paintings, this design explores the endless possibilities of creating perspectives in weave.‎ This playful and colourful interpretation of a highly traditional design is a modernist delight suitable for any style of interior where vibrancy and pizzazz are keywords.‎A Gabbeh is a hand-woven pile rug characterized by an abstract design that relies upon open fields of colour and playful geometry.‎ Gabbehs are woven by tribal women and are principally used as ‘bedding blankets’ by the nomadic tribes of the Zagros Mountains of Iran, including Kurdish, Luri and Ghashgha’i people.‎ Gabbehs are quintessentially Zollanvari and geometric designs are quintessential Gabbeh designs.‎ Our Gabbehs come in different qualities.‎ Our finest Gabbeh weave is Zollanvari Super Fine quality (referred to as Kashkuli after one of the Ghashgha’i tribes living in Fars province, southeast and northwest of Shiraz).‎ Our Zollanvari Fine qualities (known as Amaleh after another Ghashgha’i tribe who produced high-quality artefacts for the Khans) are more coarsely knotted, but truly unique and individual in patterns and colour combinations.‎
