The enlarged palmettes, flowering trees, and connecting vinery of Cromwell are artfully hand-woven on a clean open ground, following the tradition of migrating tribes that had little time to weave elaborate carpets designs. Our Oushak rugs use large Turkish-style knots and thick wool yarns to recreate these 15th century designs, also evident in the border of enlarged palmettes enclosed by flowering trees. The border of this beautiful carpet is slightly wider than typical in Persian carpets, whi ch is characteristic of Oushak rugs.
