Reflections 3A

Reflections 3A is a rectangular wool rug.‎Zollanvari Fine Gabbehs.‎A subliminal and complex design by Gabi V.‎ Lőrincz x Zollanvari, this runner has it all… colour, rhythm, perspective.‎ The Hungarian artist/designer named this creation Reflection and how apt a name this is.‎ The interplay between colours and the overall drawing is suggestive of the reflection of tree trunks on a pond.‎ A distinctive addition for a chic corridor… The extensive use of geometrical and abstract patterns together with the vivid naturally dyed colours of Ghashgha’i weavings have analogies with the studies and learnings of the Bauhaus movement, in particular, with one of its key masters, Josef Albers.‎ He studied in depth the interaction of colour and human perception.‎ His paintings and artworks with squares reminded the designers of this collection of the geometries of Gabbeh carpets and the colour interaction between the single elements woven into them.‎ In Albers’s universe, colour seduced, beguiled, swindled, and these characteristics made colour the most fascinating of art’s formal elements.‎ This concept is at the very heart of this new collection.‎ SoFar SoNear, Milan, designed this collection choosing iconic Ghashgha’i motifs that they simplified using squares and triangles.‎ The lion, the peacock, woman and man are the motifs they drew upon merging the style of Gabbehs with the drawings of Albers.‎
