This vintage 3x15 Persian kilim is a rare extra-long runner from the Qashqai tribe, handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960. Its technique is a mid-century Jajim Kilim style, in which tribal weavers would combine multiple narrow flat weaves together. Connoisseurs will note this length is rare even for this technique, which offers vast design applications in many spaces. This particular piece enjoys rich burgundy with teal and orange notes in a play of stripes and plaid patterns. It’s both an extremely versatile and collectible piece with a rustic country charm and limitless possibilities today.
